When manufacturing, advanced technology is used to cut the sprockets, in order to get a perfect cut that will increase durability. If you make sure to maintain the chain, you can expect a lifetime of almost 20000 miles, depending on the surface and style when riding.
All Snell sprockets have a black, anodized "electroplated" surface, which gives a nice finish and also increases the durability.
