Loading Ramps
Make Transporting your Motorbike Safe and Easy with 24MX Loading Ramps
When the time comes to transport your dirt bike, 24MX has the perfect answer; loading ramps. Even though dirt bikes are comparatively lightweight, they can still be difficult to load onto transport. While trailers are low, placing your dirt bike onto the back of a vehicle requires the correct kit. A motorbike loading ramp is ladder-shaped and either flat aluminium or steel. One end touches the ground, and the other rests on the back of the vehicle. The angled ramp allows you to push the bike onto the truck's bed. Lifting a dirt bike onto a low trailer is a two-person job. Meanwhile, performing the task with a loading ramp is more straightforward. Moreover, it is safer and takes only one person.
Ladder ramp
This motorbike ramp has closely gapped ladder-like rungs, giving the wheels something to grip. The rungs help keep the weight of the ramp low. They also prevent the bike from rolling back. Ladder ramps are convenient to carry and store thanks to their centre hinges.
Solid floor ramp
An aluminium, solid-floor ramp uses the same type of folding design as the ladder ramp. It offers a flat surface on which to push the bike. This type of motorbike ramp has a lightly textured finish to minimize slip. The flat bed of the ramp also provides a smoother rolling surface.
Extendable ramps
As with all the loading ramps in the 24MX lineup, the extendable ramp is aluminium to keep weight to a minimum. However, unlike folding ramps, extendable versions have two sections. These slide over each other to extend to full length.
Dual ramps
This style of loading ramp has dual rails. It's possible to secure these together to make the perfect loading accessory for all-terrain vehicles, quads and snowmobiles. The ramps are foldable for ease of carrying. Plus, they are useable as single ramps without supporting cross members.
Loading ramp accessories
Trailer plates: These lightweight interlocking plates fit on the floor of a truck or van to prevent damage to the bed. In addition, their contoured finish allows for ease of loading.
Wheel chock: These useful devices are adjustable for wheels 12-21" in diameter. When secured to a vehicle's floor, the wheel chock allows you to push the bike's front wheel into the chock to secure it upright.
Tie downs: With your motorcycle safely loaded in the vehicle, the next step is to secure it in place. Tie downs, or cargo straps, loading straps and ratchet tie downs, are indispensable as they prevent damage to your bike from bouncing around inside the vehicle.
Features to look for in a motorbike loading ramp
Motorbike loading ramps must be long enough to provide a gentle slope up to the vehicle. Too short and the angle will be so severe that pushing the bike up will be very difficult. Too long and the hinged ramp will be too weak in the middle to support the bike's weight. Regarding weight, always read the product description. Here, you will be able to find out the folded and unfolded dimensions and the overall weight. It will also give you the loading ramp's weight-carrying capacity. This information is essential, as the ramp will need to be capable of supporting your motorcycle's total weight.
Before buying, check product images to see the type of anti-slip finish on the ramp's floor. Whatever type of motorbike loading ramp you're looking for, 24MX makes light work of safely transporting your motorcycle.
